Inspire School

Head Teacher

Welcome to Inspire School, and to a fresh start.

Many of the children who come to us have found school hard in the past. Here, things feel different. We are calm, patient and led by what each child needs, with specialist support for autism, communication and sensory needs woven into every part of the day.

We believe behaviour is communication, so we take time to really listen in whatever way a child communicates, and we build trust first. From there, wonderful things happen: confidence grows, learning clicks into place, and children begin to enjoy school again.

To every parent and carer: you are part of our team. To every young person: you are welcome here, exactly as you are.

About Inspire School

Why it's unique Provision is shaped around sensory and communication needs, with very small groups, consistent routines and an approach that treats behaviour as communication rather than something to be corrected.

How we support pupils Communication is supported through PECS, Makaton, objects of reference and visual structure, with therapeutic and sensory input woven into the day. No two pupils' timetables look the same.

Aims and ethos

At Inspire School we are committed to providing our pupils with a caring, positive and welcoming learning environment to achieve their full potential — academically, socially and emotionally.
